PAFP advocates for family physicians amid COVID-19
Thank you for all you’re doing during this unprecedented public health crisis. Your efforts on the front lines of this pandemic are critical.
Below is a quick timeline of your Academy’s advocacy efforts related to COVID-19. Rest assured, the PAFP is working to help secure the support you need from our state government.

Education
Winners from Hershey CME Conference
Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Larkin from Pittsburgh! Dr. Larkin’s name was drawn from all completed overall evaluations from the Hershey CME Conference. Other cash winners included Dr. Madhu Menon of Mechanicsburg and Dr. C. David Haverstick of Hummelstown from the drawings at the end of the meeting.
Reminder, if you have any CME issues or questions, you may contact Janine Owen or Lindsey Killian at the PAFP. Assisting you with your CME is one of your many membership benefits.
Public Health
Family physicians eligible for accelerated payments
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that it would immediately implement a new Accelerate and Advance Medicare Payment policy to assist family physicians and other Medicare Part A and Part B providers and suppliers. Family physicians who meet the qualifying criteria are eligible for these accelerated and advanced Medicare payments.

AAFP reports Match 2020 was another record breaker for family medicine with an all-time record high of students matching into the specialty.
