Governor, GOP Leaders Focus on Planned Parenthood
Since a covert video showed national Planned Parenthood officials discussing the use of aborted fetuses for research, Senate Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati and House Speaker Mike Turzai called on Attorney General Kathleen Kane to investigate. Now, Gov. Tom Wolf has said his administration is taking steps to make sure human fetal tissue isn’t being sold commercially in Pennsylvania. The administration does not believe there has been any wrongdoing, but will take steps to ensure no laws are being violated.

PAFP's CRC Screening Initiative Ends
After six years of providing education and support, the PAFP’s Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screening Project came to an end on July 31, 2015. The project, guided by expert faculty physicians who educated practices on current CRC screening guidelines and systems-based changes for improving care, was largely successful. We reached almost 22,000 physicians in 2013 and 2014 alone through online and live CME plus statewide grand rounds presentations. More details about the program can be found at www.pafpfoundationimpact.com/ under Quality Improvement. Visit www.pafp.com/CRC for a complete list of available free online CME.
