State House passes H.R. 625
Yesterday, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives unamimously passed House Resolution 625. The resolution, sponsored by Rep. Paul Schemel (R-Franklin), directs the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a study on the efforts of the state’s medical schools to promote primary care and
incorporate relevant primary care experiences in their programs. The PAFP worked closely with Rep. Schemel and House leadership on getting the resolution introduced and passed. PAFP President Tracey Conti, MD thanked House
members for their support in a statement issued shortly after the vote.

Join PAFP, UPMC online for Virtual CME Conference
The PAFP and UPMC’s joint virtual CME event replaces the Pittsburgh CME event previously scheduled for The Westin. Full participation earns individuals over 17 live CME hours, and each session qualifies for Patient Safety. The event will take place using the OpenWater platform. In the week prior to the event, registrants will receive step-by-step instructions on how to access the platform. The first step will instruct attendees how to verify their email address used to register for the event. After an email address is verified, attendees will have access to view the daily schedule of events and individual sessions. Click here to register today.
