PAFP urges Wolf administration to adopt 'Health in All Policies' strategy
Earlier this week, PAFP President Tracey Conti, MD issued an open letter to Gov. Tom Wolf and Lt. Gov. John Fetterman urging them to adopt a “Health in All Policies” (HiAP) strategy for Pennsylvania. The COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on existing health disparities in our Commonwealth through its overwhelming impact on vulnerable and minority populations. A HiAP approach would help to address social determinants of health and achieve health equity for all Pennsylvanians. The PAFP has drafted a framework for a HiAP executive order that was shared with the Administration.
The PAFP also sent a letter to Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Jessica Altman asking for payment parity by commercial insurers and the state’s medical assistance program for audio-only telemedicine services. PAFP members have reported that current RVUs for audio-only patient interactions are 35-50 percent of video interactions.
