New Year, but PAFP legislative priorities remain the same
With 2020 in full swing, the PAFP is busy working on our members’ #1 legislative priority – prior authorization reform. House Bill 1194, sponsored by Rep. Steven Mentzer (R-Lancaster) is anticipated to move quickly through the state House of Representatives early this year. Also expected to see action in the first half of the year is House Resolution 625, sponsored by Rep. Paul Schemel (R-Franklin) which would direct a study on medical schools’ efforts to promote family medicine among students. Meanwhile, the PAFP continues to push back against legislation - Senate Bill 25 - that would eliminate collaborative agreements between physicians and nurse practitioners. The PAFP maintains a strong presence in the halls of the state Capitol and will continue to keep members updated on the status of all the organization’s legislative priorities. You can view the PAFP’s complete 2019-2020 legislative agenda here.
