Statewide PDL to take effect Jan. 1, 2020
Earlier this year, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) announced its intentions to implement a statewide preferred drug list (PDL) for the state’s medical assistance fee-for-service and managed care delivery systems effective Jan. 1, 2020. All medical assistance prescriptions designated as “non-preferred” on the statewide PDL will be subject to prior authorization. The PAFP wants to ensure that all members are aware of this change and encourages physicians to contact DHS with any questions or concerns regarding implementation of the statewide PDL.
