Special news: Help build a home for future docs
Support the National Conference Student Scholarship Fund today!
Dozens of Pa. medical students seek PAFP support to participate in AAFP National Conference each year. Many later share how critical that experience was in their choice to pursue family medicine. We’ve heard from med school grads (like Dr. Giusto) at Match Day ceremonies, during residency visits, and at PAFP business meetings who credit their AAFPNC experience for their commitment to the specialty. This year, a new group of students stands to benefit from the impact wielded by these scholarships and your generosity. Please join us with your support for students, our future family docs, and give to the PAFP Foundation Student Scholarship Fund today!

Sen. Pat Browne preparing direct primary care (DPC) bill
State Sen. Pat Browne (R-Lehigh), Senate Appropriations Chair, is currently circulating a co-sponsorship memo with the intention of re-introducing Senate Bill 926 from the 2017-18 legislative session. The PAFP supports the bill and has worked with the senator and his key staff on the legislation. The bill seeks to define DPC and serve as an authorization bill enabling the unencumbered civil contracting between patients and primary care physicians, coupled with high-deductible health insurance.
