Pa. grand jury child abuse report to guide fall legislative session
The Aug. 14 release of the comprehensive findings of a statewide investigative grand jury that spent two years uncovering abuse of children by priests will focus the General Assembly this fall toward the reforms recommended in the report. The grand jury has recommended four specific criminal and civil reforms including changes to the child abuse reporting law. House Leadership, immediately after the release of the report, committed to a vote this fall on Senate Bill 261 (Sen. Scarnati) that would change the statute of limitations.
