Budget complete after months and a credit downgrade
Pennsylvania’s unprecedented budget saga came to an end on Monday when Gov. Tom Wolf signed revenue plans passed last week matching the spending plan approved back in July. The final deal includes expanded gambling and borrowing from future payments of the state’s tobacco settlement. As the dust settles, in four short months the governor will present his 2017-18 budget proposal to begin the process anew.

New model predicts moderate flu season
It's flu season, and this year is shaping up to be an above-average one for the influenza virus. Medscape reports a model which accurately predicted the severity of last year's outbreak is forecasting that the 2017-2018 flu season will be severe, albeit less than the previous one. Nevertheless, the message is clear: get the flu shot!
