PAFP: Skip the nasal spray, but get the flu vaccine
|
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says the FluMist nasal spray version of the flu vaccine is ineffective this year, but the PAFP is telling patients to get the flu shot for protection this flu season. Some patients, especially children, are hesitant about shots, but the quick discomfort of a shot is preferable to the symptoms of the flu virus, which include a fever, runny nose, sore throat, aches, and pains - and can last for weeks. Click here to read the PAFP's full statement on this year's flu vaccine.
