New Law Allows Pharmacists to Give Flu Shots to Minors
|
|
On June 26, Gov. Tom Wolf signed into law HB 182 (York Republican Rep. Seth Grove) that allows pharmacists to administer flu shots to children age 9 and above. The PAFP had opposed prior versions that were far broader in scope, but did not oppose the compromise to allow flu-only vaccine administration. Primary care providers, if identified, are to be notified within 48 hours of administration of the vaccine. The new law goes into effect in 60 days.
