PCMH, Prescription Monitoring Legislation Set to Move
|
|
In 2013, House Health Committee Chairman Matt Baker worked with the PAFP to develop legislation (House Bill 1655) to establish a PCMH Advisory Council and create a statewide plan within Pennsylvania’s Medicaid program administered by the Dept. of Public Welfare. The bill passed the House earlier this year; this week, it will move out of the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee. Meanwhile, Sen. Pat Vance’s prescription monitoring program bill (Senate Bill 1180) has passed the Senate and is moving in the House. Both measures have a good chance of final passage before adjournment Oct. 15.
