Medicare Beneficiaries Receive Free Annual Wellness Visit
|
|
Under the Affordable Care Act, Medicare beneficiaries receive coverage for an annual wellness visit (AWV). This yearly visit focuses on preventive health, review of patient’s history and risk factors for diseases, medication reconciliation, and the opportunity to provide personalized health advice and counseling. The AWV is a Medicare Part B benefit for which the beneficiary will pay nothing – no coinsurance, no copayment, and it is not counted towards the deductible. Encourage your patients to stay healthy and schedule their AWV yearly! For more information, read the ABCs of Providing the Annual Wellness Visit.
