Practice Advocacy: National Physician Transparency Program Established May 23, 2013
Section 6002 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) established the National Physician Transparency Program (Open Payments). Beginning in August 2013, applicable drug and device manufacturers must disclose certain transfers of value to physicians. Visit the PAFP's Practice Advocacy page for the details.

Health IT: Mitochon EHR to Shut Down Service May 22, 2013
Free, web-based electronic health record (EHR) service Mitochon has announced that it will cease its physician service in the middle of June. Mitochon says it will continue to "focus on other lines of business" and will work hard to ensure a smooth transition and clinical data retrieval. Click here for more information.

Government Affairs: Employers Grow Confident of Continuing Coverage May 21, 2013
Most employers are confident they'll be able to continue offering insurance coverage to employees under the health care law.
