FEELING THE WINTER BLUES? YOU MAY BE SAD (Dec. 17, 2012)

GOV. SAYS 'NO' TO STATE-RUN HEALTH EXCHANGE (Dec. 13, 2012)
Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett has announced that Pennsylvania won't set up its own health insurance exchange, citing concerns over costs and planning. PAFP member and Residency Program and Community Health Center collaborative faculty William Warning, MD has been named the co-director of the Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative's (PCPCC) Task Force on Education and Training. The PCPCC is dedicated to advancing the Patient-Centered Medical Home care model.

STUDY: BREATH TEST COULD DETECT CRC (Dec. 7, 2012)
A breath test has been shown to be more than 75 percent accurate in detecting colorectal cancer (CRC), according to a study published in the British Journal of Surgery. FLU SEASON ARRIVES, MAY BE A SEVERE ONE (Dec. 4, 2012)

REPORT: STRONG LINK BETWEEN TBI AND BRAIN DAMAGE (Dec. 3, 2012)
According to a report by Boston NPR affiliate WBUR, a thorough study by Boston University shows 80 percent of subjects (including athletes and veterans) who sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) developed a degenerative brain disorder.
