MEDICARE PAYMENT CUT DELAYED 10 MONTHS (Feb. 27, 2012)
The Medicare payment cut to physicians that was scheduled to go into effect on March 1 has been delayed. The pending 27 percent cut was frozen under legislation approved by Congress on Feb. 17. The 10-month freeze will remain in effect through Dec. 31.

SGR MESSAGE DELIVERED TO LAWMAKERS (Feb. 2, 2012)
This week, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) joined with other physician groups to ask lawmakers for a repeal of the sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula. AAFP leaders say the visit was a beneficial one. The AAFP's website has more information on SGR, including a form you can send your legislators.
